this date picker allows the user to click the first day they want to monitor from, then the last and it automatically highlights all the days in between. They can also navigate between months using this process.
This is more of a horizontally sliding gauge where dates can be clicked and dragged - similar to the selection of a portion of the graph in widget A. White arrows at the sides can be used to select next/previous months.
This design is more in keeping with the original date picker, with a slightly altered appearance.
