Appliances in the list could be colour coded according to their energy consumption - this early example isn't representative of the actual energy usage of the appliances, it's just a rough idea.
These are some ideas for the first view in the energy monitoring widget, based upon the data representation used in google power meter. Aim is to highlight and distinguish events in a specific period of time.
